Bodh Gaya: Prince Gautama meditated and attained the power of enlightenment and divinity under a 'Bodhi tree' and became Lord Buddha. Bodh Gaya is located 105 km from Patna in Bihar State. Attractions of this pilgrimage include the Bodhi Tree, Mahabodhi temple, Vajrasana, Chankaramana, and Ratnagar.
Sarnath: Buddha gave his first sermon to his five disciples at a place situated 10 km from Varanasi, called Sarnath. Attractions of this Buddhist pilgrimage include Dhamekha Stupa, Chaukhandi Stupa, and Digambara Jain temple.
